St Paul's account (in Acts 3) of the healing of a lame person, is a reminder to us that Christ passed on his Spirit, with all the gifts and fruits, to his apostles, and through them to the whole church. While accounts of miraculous healings are rare, they are far from non-existing! A Deacon in America was fully cured, after praying to St John Henry Newman, and that healing was part of the canonisation process for Him. Deacon John Sullivan was present and served at the canonisation Mass of the Saint. Blessed Carlo Acutis has two verified miraculous healings associated with him, leading to his canonisation planned for Sunday April 27th (although we do not at this time know if the pope's death will delay that celebration or not).
Far more often are those smaller miracles - the words someone says, or the hymn some choir sang, that bring someone back into church and perhaps back into active life as a Christian. They often go un-noticed, but are non the less precious. A cynical view might be that these are just coincidences. I prefer to think of them as God-incidences!
Pray for a miracle, but do not be dismayed if it never seems to come for you. It probably is happening for someone else!
