They preach, but do not practise.
Matthews Gospel has many hard things to say about hypocrisy. Those who set rules for others, and do not follow them themselves, are an easy target in a way - but we need to remember that we are all (probably) capable of that error. Be particularly careful if you ever catch yourself saying something like 'those people over there - they are up to no good' - in some way or another. It is entirely possible that someone else is doing the same when looking at you.
Do you remember ' Jesus looked at him - and loved him' from the Gospel on Monday - the meeting with the rich young man? [Mk 10:21] Jesus looks at us - sees us as we are - and loves us. However difficult it might be, we need to do as Jesus taught us: look at those you previously might have labelled as wring 'uns:
and love them as Jesus loves you.
