Today St Edwards' School Y10 students made a walking pilgrimage to the Parish, attending the 09:30 Mass. At the end of the Mass Fr David talked of pilgrimages to the Lateran Basilica in Rome - where today St John the Baptist is celebrated on his Birthday - one of only four saints celebrated on their birthday rather than day of entry into the heavenly realm. The Baptist is one, Jesus another, and Mary the Mother of Jesus is the third - so who is the fourth?
On their pilgrimage the students - all of whom are taking GCSE RS - stopped at several prayer stations. Inspired by Laudate Si, they considered God's creation in Trees, Water, and also how humans can impact creation in positive and negative ways.
