I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus.
Acts 20:17-27; Ps 68(67):10-11. 20-21; John 17:1-11a
This season of Eastertide is of course marked by reading Acts. Often called 'the acts of the apostles' it is in reality 'some acts of some of the apostles' as they are not all represented and all that they did is not talked about therein.
The snippets we have are so exciting - can you imagine living in a church where new people are joining your faith every day, miracles are a daily sign of the living God in our midst, and daily we come to a deeper relationship with, and understanding of, God?
Brother - Sister - we do live in such a time. We ought to be a little more exhilarated! We recently celebrated 13 new catholics at Easter, we have over 50 teenagers about to celebrate confirmation, 1 or 2 baptisms most weeks.... and so many good things that would not happen if not backed by prayer.
