Feed my lambs... feed my sheep.
Acts 25:13b-21; Ps 103(102):1-2. 11-12. 19-20b; John 21:15-19
Both Peter and Paul, those great saints of the church, feature in today's readings. Paul in Acts, is held captive while the various roman rulers argue among themselves what is to be done with him. Eventually he gets sent to Rome, and after a very eventful journey Paul gets there. If he had not, Christianity would have died out I am sure, but as Peter brought Christianity to Rome, and the Roman Empire spread over the known world, Christianity (eventually) spread everywhere. We often have to just accept the status, and place wherein we find ourselves, and trust in the Lord that all will be done in his way and in his time.
Peter, on the other hand, is in an encounter with Jesus. Perhaps Peter is baffled - Jesus repeats three times, feed my lambs. In other words, it is not good enough to simply say 'Lord, I Love You'. If you have faith, then you must allow that faith to lead you to do good for all those around yourself.
