Blessed are those who walk in the law of the Lord!
Deuteronomy 26:16-19; Ps 119(118):1-2. 4-5. 7-8; Matthew 5:43-48
Jesus confirms the old law - in this case from Deuteronomy - and extends its meaning. From just a transactional view, we now have a values view of right and wrong. We do not need the details of thousands of laws to guide us if we hold the correct values.
The challenge is to be perfect, just as God is perfect. In reality, we can only hope to move in that direction!
