Ephesians 4:1-6; Psalm 23(24):1-6; Luke 12:54-59
By use of the simple example of forecasting the weather, Jesus tells us that we can discern the difference between good and evil. There is then no excuse not to do the right thing! In the Middle East, where the climate is somewhat predictable, and the seasons are marked by reliable and specific signs int he sky, the metaphore makes perfect sense.
Wether forecasting is in our land, and in this time of climate change, rather more complex, and perhaps we have made our lives too complex to be able to clearly see the clouds on the horizon that tell us we are (or are not) travelling in the right direction?
