St Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop, Martyr

Romans 1:16-25; Psalm 18:2-5; Luke 11:37-41

The scripture Paul quotes "The upright man finds life through faith" occurs in Habakuk 2 vs 4. Paul often uses a metaphor of a race in his writing - is it possible he was inspired by the prophet Habakuk? In the same section as today's little quote, Habakuk says "Write the vision down on tablets, so that a runner might read it". It is to important a message to hide away in the small print!

Our race, background or lifestyle do not determine how close to God we are. Whoever we are - we must focus on the faith that has been given us by God, to guide us to Him.
